There are many appealing aspects of vacationing in McCall, one of which is the abundance of public parks. Legacy Park is a prime example, located steps from downtown and featuring an expansive beach and swimming area on Payette Lake.

For instance, Foglifter Cafe serves classic American cuisine and is within walking distance of Legacy Park. 

Also within walking distance are popular Gem State attractions, including the Manchester Ice Rink & Events Center and McCall Lake Cruises. Legacy Park: Fun Facts & Cool Features

Of course, swimming in Payette Lake is a main draw, but for an additional water playground, check out the splash pad. Located near the grassy area, this popular attraction appeals to children who don't want to get into the lake or when the water is cold.

The dock and launch area make it hassle-free to get your stand-up paddleboard (SUP) or kayak into the water. The lake is calm, making it ideal for paddling and exploring the lake's vast shoreline. If you didn't bring yours or don't own one, several rental shops in McCall typically deliver to your preferred location.  

Other outdoor amenities include a beach volleyball court with stunning views of Payette Lake and refreshing waters to cool off after a heart-pumping game. The walking path lets you get your steps in and connects you to roads and sidewalks for further exploration of McCall.

Public restrooms and showers are available to rinse off the sand after a day on the beach. Such conveniences allow families and vacationers to stay all day at Legacy Park, enhancing its appeal.

If you're vacationing during the Fourth of July, Legacy Park is the hub for the Lakeside Liberty Fest. This fun-filled weekend event showcases food vendors, fireworks, and live music. Past celebrations have included yoga, group workouts, a bounce house for kids, and a family-friendly movie night.
