Mervis' Cafe

Mervis' Cafe is steeped in family history that spans over five decades. It all began in 1970 when Jose Martinez and his family opened a general store in West Palm Beach. And in the spirit of family, Jose named the eatery after his daughter, Mervis. 

The family business soon grew to include a deli, where innovative sandwiches and Cuban coffee were introduced. Its food became legendary, even earning the Best Cuban Sandwich award from The Palm Beach Post's readers.

In 2002, the Mervis' Grocery closed to facilitate the expansion of Southern Blvd. into an 8-lane highway. But a year before the closure, Mervis' Café and Grille opened at its current location. This new venture was not just a restaurant but a full-service United States Postal Service Contract Unit. 

Today, Mervis' Café is operated by Ivel and Ivelisse Sierra, who grew up in family businesses and brought their extensive experience to the Cafe. The Cafe's operation and offerings show its commitment to the Treasure Coast community and its patrons.

The interior is eclectic yet welcoming, emphasizing a cozy ambiance that allows guests to relax and enjoy their dining experience. 

The layout features ample space and plenty of seating, ensuring that diners can enjoy their meals without feeling cramped. 

The owners take great pride in offering their customers a clean and welcoming space. This attention to detail extends to the help staff, who are warm and helpful, effectively communicating in English and Spanish.

As you might suspect, one of the standouts is the Cuban Sandwich. This iconic handheld is a must-try with mustard, salami, ham, Swiss cheese, pickles, and pork on a pressed Cuban roll. 

The Cafe serves a variety of breakfast options. The Breakfast Super Burrito is hearty, featuring three scrambled eggs, garlic potatoes, onions, green peppers, sausage, and cheddar cheese. 

For those who prefer a classic breakfast, the Quick American Breakfast, consisting of two eggs any style, a choice of smoked ham, bacon, or sausage served with garlic potatoes or grits, and your choice of toast, offers a fulfilling and familiar meal​.

As for drinks, Mervis' Cafe excels in its coffee offerings. The Café con Leche and Cortadito are particularly notable, providing an authentic Cuban coffee experience. These drinks have been praised for their excellent taste and quality, making them a favorite among patrons. The Cafe also serves a variety of other beverages, including brewed coffee, hot chocolate, and iced café con leche, catering to different preferences.
