With a firm commitment to customer service and one-on-one interactions, Roberto has steadily risen in the local hospitality industry and is ecstatic about this opportunity. We are equally thrilled that Roberto will get in on the ground floor to lead the Casago team at Soleil!<\/span><\/p>\n

Rising from the pristine coastline of Playa Encanto in Rocky Point, Encantame Resorts is already home to the tallest buildings in Sonora and an elevated level of comfort. With the Velero, Viento, and Verano buildings at Encantame Towers complete, sister project Encantame Soleil will further enhance the vibrant coastal destination just 15 minutes from town. Similarly, Roberto and the Casago team are looking forward to continuing to raise the bar on meeting guests’ and owners\u2019 expectations.<\/span><\/p>\n

We caught up with Roberto in the lobby of Encantame Towers recently to explore the depths of a phrase that has guided his path, both personally and professionally: <\/span>everything happens for a reason<\/span><\/i>. In thinking about his upcoming role as Casago Resort Manager for Encantame Soleil, and reflecting on how he got to this point, Roberto humbly expressed he felt he had somehow manifested this opportunity.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Determined Resolve<\/span><\/h2>\n

Roberto Ortiz\u2019s journey to Puerto Pe\u00f1asco<\/a> has traversed borders and cultures, providing him the chance to develop a deeper understanding of his family\u2019s roots while strengthening his resolve. The eldest of four boys, Roberto called Phoenix home from the age of 6 before finding himself back in Mexico just before he turned 20. He spent the next 14 years in Torreon, Coahuila, home state to both his parents. There, he was engulfed in the culture and learning more about his own origins while surrounded by extended family, including his dad\u2019s 9 brothers and sisters!<\/span><\/p>\n

In search of greater professional opportunities, Roberto arrived in Puerto Pe\u00f1asco in late fall of 2019. He entered Puerto Pe\u00f1asco\u2019s workforce in January 2020, stepping easily into the role of customer service for a fellow vacation rental company given his impeccable English and people skills. During this period, Roberto swiftly went from a call center position to front-desk reception at the Sonoran Spa. Overcoming pandemic challenges that same year, border closures, and truly unexpected obstacles for tourism and the town strengthened Roberto\u2019s drive to succeed and seek out valuable interactions with people.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Service driven<\/span><\/h2>\n

Roberto encountered intense hands-on experiences as his front-desk role at Sonoran Spa transformed into greater supervisory responsibilities. He is grateful for having had that opportunity as it provided a launching pad to work with providers, suppliers, owners, and guests. In early 2025, Roberto decided his values and principles aligned more appropriately with the structure, flow, and owner-centric<\/a> focus of Casago.<\/span><\/p>\n

Steve Schwab<\/a>, Casago founder and CEO, shares Roberto\u2019s commitment to service and loving on the community to enhance one-on-one interactions with owners and guests. Schwab is excited to have Roberto play a fundamental part in Casago\u2019s continued growth in Rocky Point.<\/span><\/p>\n
