Big Beach Brewing

About

Brewing beer at home was a hobby Jim and Julie Shamburger fell in love with. But when the hobby became out of control, they put their passion into a full-time business, and Big Beach Brewing was born.

The microbrewery takes pride in using the finest ingredients to craft a diverse array of ales and lagers. Its rotating lineup satisfies hop-heads searching for a punchy IPA and those favoring a smooth, malty Stout.

Along with the vision of creating quality brews, the Shamburgers also wanted a place with a laid-back, seaside lifestyle.

The commitment to the craft and the community goes beyond the beer. It hosts events, from toe-tapping live music to food trucks whose food pairs with their brews. Visiting Big Beach Brewery will make for a memorable Orange Beach experience.

Vibe

Step into this brewery, and you've found a place where good times flow as freely as the beer on tap. With its laid-back brick architecture, the exterior speaks to the casual beach goer.

The ambiance melds rustic charm with contemporary comfort, sporting polished wooden bars and open spaces for conversation and camaraderie.

Thoughtfully positioned seating encourages patrons to mingle while the gleaming brewing vessels narrate a silent story of alchemy and craft. Natural light filters through expansive windows, casting a warmth that complements the golden hues of your pint. Here, the clinking of glasses punctuates lively banter, where each visit feels like a toast to life's simple pleasures.

With its chill beach vibe and outdoor and indoor seating, Big Beach Brewing will deliver an Orange Beach experience rich in local flavor and hospitality.

Big Beach Brewing: Menu & Drinks

The brews at this attraction are diverse and satisfying, appealing to beer lovers with varying tastes.

One of their signature beers is Rod's Reel Cream Ale, an American-style, all-malt ale. It's described as being well-balanced and crisp, with no hoppy bitterness. This golden brew goes down dry, leaving a hint of bready sweetness.

For hop lovers, the Hundred Daze IPA will satisfy you. The brewery dry hops 100 Daze with modern American hop varieties to create a robust and hoppy bitterness that lingers. Expect notes of citrus, apricot, passion fruit, and black pepper aromas in this American ale.

Changing tack, the Midnight Cruise Porter will delight those who prefer darker brews. The porter is inky brown in color with a moderately strong malt flavor showcasing roasted chocolate and coffee flavors. The porter has a sharp, but not bitter, taste countered by a slight caramel sweetness.

Along with rotating seasonal beers, Big Beach Brewing also serves wine on top, which will appeal to non-beer drinkers.

Although the brewery doesn't have a kitchen, food trucks frequently visit, especially during special events or live music performances.

An example of fare offered is the Beer-Infused Bratwurst, whose robust flavors blend perfectly with any brew. Tacos are often featured, and a standout is the Gulf Shrimp Tacos. This handheld comes in soft tortillas with sliced avocado, purple cabbage, and a special spicy aioli kick. And there are excellent nearby restaurants like Lulu's Gulf Shores, which offer a wide range of choices and are guaranteed to please everyone.
